Ryan Lee Blu-Ray Commentary
My suspicion is that this strip will be nobody’s favorite, but when I wrote the script I was in a mood to show just a little camaraderie. When people face extinction level events together, a unique bond can’t help but develop. (see: Marine Corps, United States)

Of course at the pub, that bond expresses itself in aggressive ball-busting. I thought I’d take a break from that and engage in my own limited brand of sentiment, and am sort of amused/dismayed to find that I closed the bit with some more ball-busting. Couldn’t leave it alone for ONE STRIP, could ya? Apparently not.

I don’t know. The audience as always will be the final arbiter, but I think it works. I think Mike sold the fatigue really well, and I love the vapor trailing off of Inimitable Man. To me, it’s a nice moment. I would suspect we go straight back to sniping next strip, but every now and again I might remind you that deep down, these people actually do like each other.

Monster Mike Blu-Ray Commentary
In fact, this is my favourite strip. There’s something extra superhero-y about this one. Only once before have we seen battle damage evident within Superpub. This one shows that these guys are actually out on the streets fighting the good fight, and paying for it.
This one also takes me back to the very first one of these we did. The Zip and Inimitable Man. Ah, nostalgia.
It’s not a ‘punch you in the gut’ zinger, for certain, but this little gag does a lot for establishing the world of Superpub, and that goes a long way with me.
