Ryan Lee Blu-Ray Commentary
This strip was me fulfilling two objectives. The first was to further solidify the fact that Dreadfool is a jackass, and nobody in the pub likes him. What’s sort of bizarre about that is that it’s causing me to feel sympathy for him, and sympathy is not my strong suit. We’ll see how that swerves the script next time he pops up.

The second objective was an homage to the relationship between Logan and Steve Rogers. Two old souls who have been breaking hearts and faces since World War 2. A personal favorite of mine is Uncanny X-Men # 268, know what I mean? So this is that, only with a horrible George RR Martin joke at the end.

It’s always fun for me to see Mike’s choices…the script dictated a threatening claw, but Mike chose to go sans adamantium for Sid. I think it looks great. Nice and savage!

Monster Mike Blu-Ray Commentary

This is an example of me struggling with the spacing in the panels. panel three was something I struggled with to the point that I had to just let it go. A fix, I think would be to have changed the angle of the panel. Or to do an extreme close-up on Sid and ‘Fool. As is part of the exercise of this project, I had to let it fly as is. I’ll learn from this one and reference it every time another similar opportunity presents itself.

I love the camaraderie of the two heroes. Just as Ryan stated above, they are two old war buddies dishing over tales of the golden years. Clear analogues of Captain America and Wolverine, I made sure to add tags to represent that Sid is drinking a Canadian Lager while Colonel USA is enjoying a cold American Bud. An American and a Canadian getting along so well. Who’d have guessed? 😉

My thoughts on Deadpool as a character have not changed since last week but i will say that I laughed out loud when I watched Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool kill Mario Lopez on April 1st. Ryan Reynolds; Canadian, by the way.
